Strawberry Roses
Strawberry Roses are so easy to create in spite of their elegant, fanciful appearance. They come together very quickly, and the best part is that even young children can have fun helping with these!
I made these as gifts with my siblings and special pal on Valentine's Day. We made a decadent chocolate fondue to accompany the roses, and they were a huge hit with the recipients. Next time I try making these roses I think I'll try using molding chocolate to make chocolate petals... sounds ambitious, yet fun.
What You'll Need:
- Wooden skewers
- Strawberries
- Knives
- A vase or jar
Directions:
Skewer the base of each strawberry gently, being careful not to poke the skewer through the top.
Then, starting at the base, make several small, petal-like slices. The easiest technique I found is to make the cut, then gently pull it back and curl the edge into a petal shape.
Continue rotating the strawberry and slicing all the way to the top.
It's seriously that easy! You can dip these roses in chocolate, eat them plain, or serve them on ice cream for an artsy effect (sans skewers, of course).
